1936 Plymouth Coupe

Here's a chance to stand out from the Ford/Chevy herd - in a Plymouth.  This is a nostalgic ride that is a "driver's" car. It has great handling and plenty of power to call upon.

The Build:

All work was done to maintain the original character of the vehicle so that it would be a "time capsule" with modern running gear.  Body and chassis were stripped to bare metal, epoxy primered, and painted with high quality materials.  Original frame was boxed and reenforced to support new suspension: Mustang II in the front with fast-ratio Rack & Pinion, and an Art Morrison 5-Link in the rear, both with coil-overs.  All new wiring harness with 1/0 welding cable for trunk mounted battery and front and rear chassis grounds.

Interior:

Interior features classic Autometer electronic gauges, original seat upholstered in OEM type material.  Door panels and headliner are also representative of the period. A removable sunroof allows a taste of open-air cruising. All glass has been replaced with rose tinted safety glass.

Drivetrain:

Engine is a Mopar 5.9 Magnum stroked to 408 (complete roller).  Edelbrock aluminum heads make around a 9.6 compression ratio. Fuel is supplied through a Holley Sniper EFI with a tank mounted fuel pump and return lines.  Ignition is Holley Hyperspark that precisely communicates with the EFI, eliminating hesitation in engine response.  Cam is "RV" grind so that the engine idles and drives smoothly. However, low-end torque is massive and throttle response is impressive.

Power flows through a smooth shifting 5-speed transmission to a Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.37 gears and limited slip.
