1942 Ford Super Deluxe Tudor

This was a new model year for Ford but was cut short due to the Pearl Harbor Attack of December 7, 1941 which brought us into WWII. Ford’s total production of the ’42 models was just 160,000, of which only 27,000 were Super Deluxe Tudor sedans. An additional 10,000 4 door, 6 cylinder Ford sedans were built for the military.  Slightly over 600,000 ’41 Fords were built; the ’42 models are rare by comparison.

All domestic car production ceased within 60 days of the attack and resumed after WWII with the '46, '47 & '48 models.
This car was made within days of the attack and is a refurbished survivor with less than 59K miles on its original Flathead V8.

Refurbished (not restored), stripped & repainted, completely re-upholstered, 6v alternator, 2 speed electric wipers, new master cylinder, wheel cylinders & front brake shoes (have rear shoes but not installed), new welting and stone guards, SS trim cleaned & polished, bumpers & grill re-chromed, windshield, door & rear glass replaced, new clutch, rebuilt carb, fuel pump and distributor, all rubber seals replaced, all gauges and lights work properly, radiator rebuilt, plus other repairs and upgrades.

It's a fun driver and all systems work (including heater/defroster).
It’s been kept in a heated garage the past 20 years.
I’ve enjoyed over 50 years owning, refurbishing, maintaining, and driving classic cars and it’s time for this one to go to a new home so others can enjoy it.
