1972 by most all accounts became the last of what we now call “Classic Corvettes.” This model year was the last of the chrome front and rear bumpers with the following year only carrying the chrome rear bumpers… Then, the chrome was gone.
This year saw the change from gross horsepower to net Horsepower, and all of the auto manufactures began to pull the reigns on high performance, as the “Clean-Air” act began to push for unleaded fuels used to cool and assist in lubricating valve trains in vehicles built prior to 1974.
Its' hard to believe it’s been over fifty years since then, and after stumbling through the dark ages of the mid ’70s through the 1980’s we have lived to see the emergence of High Performance again!
Thank you to the Auto manufactures, and their engineers for their perseverance, and all of the automotive enthusiasts for pushing for performance vehicles like we enjoy today, yet not forgetting the past, and how the new amazing cars were developed from their predecessors.
By the time this 1972 Corvette was produced, Chevrolet had five years under their belt building on the C3 platform, and thus, a good quality American performance Sports car.
This Particular Corvette has its original LS5 454 Big Block engine. So, when you twist the key and those big cubes fire up, you know you’re in something special. Add to this the original M21, 4 speed, rebuilt front suspension, and new brakes, fresh comfortable leather seat interior, new wheels and tires, and the right stance, all that’s left is, remove the T-tops and cruise!
Super solid classic Corvette with it’s original engine and drivetrain, fresh new (original trim) interior, nice original color base/coat, clear/coat repaint, excellent chrome and brightwork, all components and accessories work, deep sounding chambered exhaust all rolling on new tires… All you need is your favorite road! Ready to enjoy!
