This 1955 Chevy hardtop is such a car.
This car underwent a rotisserie frame-off restoration a few years ago, and it is finished with a degree of detail that is hard to find.
The iconic combination of Tropical Turquoise and India Ivory paint shows off the pristine condition of the sheet metal, and the updated original interior is reminiscent of earlier times.
For the Tri5 Chevy enthusiast, this car is a must.
From bumper to bumper, no expense was spared in building this car.
A professional restoration shop in California built the car, a low mileage six cylinder Bel Air that rolled off the Oakland, California assembly line, and was sold new in the Central Valley of California.
After carefully disassembling it, the newly painted body was placed on a finished rolling chassis.
As much as this Bel Air looks like a stock restoration, under its' shiny coat, it is a true hot rod - the kind of car that loves to be driven.
The car features a muscular, high revving, 327 CID crate motor with a lumpy cam, detailed for show, that is mated to a GM 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission.
A Lincoln Versailles 9” rear end turning 3:55:1 gears gets power to the ground.
It has an aluminum radiator, new gas tank, stainless steel exhaust system, and all new wiring from bumper to bumper.
Underneath, this car is as clean as a driven car can be.
It has traveled just over 3,000 miles since it was finished, mostly highway miles.
Inside, this Bel Air features Classic digital instruments, a color matched Ididit tilt steering column, plush pile carpeting, factory seats, door panels, and headliner covered in authentic factory materials, and all the glass was replaced.
The weather stripping, rubber, felt, and trim pieces are all new.
The car rides on new BF Goodrich radial tires wrapped around polished American Racing TorqueThrust II wheels.
Equipped with power steering, four wheel power disc brakes with hydro-boost, Vintage Air Conditioning and heat and an AutoSound stereo system, this Chevy is perfect for an evening cruise or a long road trip.
