1973 Chevrolet Nova Z26 Super Sport on Steroids

We call this Nova THE GHOST.
Try to find a real 1973 American muscle car. There aren’t any.
The factory hot car era came to a halt in 1972, but the Detroit automakers kept trying to hang on to the glory days during what is called the malaise era, offering mostly pony cars with fancy names, but no horsepower.
This car left the Los Angeles assembly line with the RPO Z26 Super Sport package and optional 350 CID V8 which was factory rated at a wimpy 175 smog harnessed horsepower.
It was sold new in Las Vegas, Nevada at Fletcher Jones Chevrolet and in the years that followed, it was driven only 8793 miles before the owner/builder bought it in 1997.
Then it was completely disassembled and reconstructed and the new digital odometer reads only 544 miles.
So, a total of just 9337 actual miles in 52 years computes to an average of just 15 miles a month since new.
Now, let’s get to the good news… NOW THIS CAR IS A GENUINE MUSCLE CAR.
Under the cowl induction hood, it rocks a 454 CID big block V8, assembled to produce well north of 500 horsepower.
All new from the crankcase to the air cleaner, this engine has all the best stuff money can buy.
And, it is all BC stuff – Before China.
Every part is American made and from the harmonic balancer to the competition built rear end, is precision made and documented.
The engine internals include SCAT high performance parts.
A forged steel crank, connecting rods, and pistons, Edelbrock 10.5:1 compression aluminum heads, Crane roller rockers, custom fabricated long tube headers, and MSD ignition and fuel injection make this little car roar.
Putting all this power to the ground takes place when the 11 inch Centerforce clutch is engaged and a beefed up custom driveline transfers the power to a custom built 10 bolt PosiTraction rear end with hardened axles by TEN Factory.
The custom crafted chassis is set up to take as much as 700 horsepower and it keeps this radical ride going straight when the go pedal is mashed to the floor.
The Six Speed Tremec T56 manual transmission mixes the gears effortlessly, and as quick as the car accelerates, it just loafs in overdrive when it is on the freeway.
No detail has gone untouched.
The Nova has big drilled and slotted 4 wheel disc brake rotors, a huge aluminum radiator, anti-sway bars, traction bars, and power steering, air conditioning, an Auto Sound stereo system, and custom fabricated black interior featuring a bench seats with embroidered SS stitching front and back.
The factory SS package headliner with the huge sculpted SS logo still remains.
As a tribute to the time the car was built, it also still rides on the Centerline rims that were popular at the time.

SO NOW YOU HAVE SEEN A GHOST.
You are unlikely to see another one like this ever.
If you (A) desire a unique ride; (B) still love to feel the thrill of unleashing radical power in a three pedal car; (C) appreciate the skill and patience required to build a car of this quality; and (D) want to buy a vehicle that won’t let you down at a price far less than the sum of its parts – then maybe this one of a kind ride is for you. There is only one. Put it in your garage. Don’t let this Ghost disappear.
