1940 Chevrolet Master Coupe Street Rod

I have owned this car for about 1 year.
I bought it from the owner's wife as her husband had passed and she had a broker friend handle the sale.
I was not able to get direct history about the car.
Here is what I am seeing and will try to describe it to the best of my ability.
I am needing to sell the car because of my health.
Title states “1940 Chevy Master Coupe".
On the side panel of the hood it says “Master 85”.
The car was street rodded in the 1990's.

Engine: Chevy small block. The new instrument panel when the car was built up shows 7,200 miles on the odometer. I believe the engine is from the 1990's, maybe a new engine. This casting numbers was on the rear drivers side (GM 5.7 LG SGI.). It runs good.

Front suspension: Mustang II front clip with disc brakes. The cross member is a Heidts (Hot Rod Shop Inc.) Since I have owned it I had Heidts lower tubular arms and coil springs put on it.

Body and Frame: It looks to me and others that is was a “frame off “ restoration. The paint job is very nice and in good condition.

Rear suspension: Leaf springs look like “Chassis Engineering Inc”. Rear end looks like a GM with 10 bolts at the rear. Drum brakes in rear.

Carburetor: A new Edelbrock was put on it just before I bought it. With these numbers 8867 AZ, 1406, 3116.

Wheels: Front are 14” and rear are 15”.

Rack and pinion steering.
No power steering.
Has A/C under the hood but never have tried it.
Griffin Aluminum radiator.

Transmission: I was told it was a 700 R4. It feels like it has an overdrive.

Interior: Nicely done. Drivers seat is powered. Trunk is finished out to match the cab interior. Has radio and CD player. Instrument gauges are VDO. Has heater that works.

This is a very nice street rod and drives nice.
Priced conservatively.
