1937 Chevrolet Master Town Sedan Street Rod

Exterior: Yellow
Interior: Black
Engine: Chevrolet 327 CI V8
Transmission: 700R Automatic
Mileage: 16,950 (Since completed in 2011)
Purchased: 2006
Build Completed: 2011

This eye-catching 1937 Chevrolet Master Town Sedan Street Rod is powered by a Chevrolet 327 cubic inch V8 featuring a Weber carburetor, mid-rise intake manifold, high-output alternator, Delco Remy distributor, coated tubular exhaust headers, aluminum exhaust shields, aluminum valve covers, and an engine compartment oil pressure gauge. The firewall has been cleaned and smoothed, while polished steel rods support the radiator-to-cowl structure. A modern alternator and updated ignition system complete the technical specifications of this beautifully detailed engine compartment. Dual exhaust runs the full length of the chassis with large-diameter straight pipes exiting beneath the rear bumper.

The chassis is equipped with a coil-over shock independent front suspension, power-assisted front disc brakes with the power booster mounted underneath, rack-and-pinion steering, and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with dropped longitudinal rear leaf springs and shock absorbers. A battery tender charging dongle is conveniently mounted at the rear of the vehicle.

Purchased in 2006 by the current owner's husband, this solid, original all-steel 1937 Chevrolet was completely transformed into the street rod you see today. The builder dismantled the car, installed fiberglass front fenders and running boards, and entrusted the body to well-known Washington State hot rod body and paint expert Allen Kenney for the professional body and paint work.

A lifelong hot rod enthusiast and professional aerospace machinist, the owner performed the majority of the mechanical work himself, incorporating numerous custom features including an automatic trunk raising system, covered toggle switches on the interior console, remote-control door poppers, fixed-position louvered steel hood panels, and removable matching side panels.

Completed in 2011, this street rod was displayed at the Hansville Car Show & Shine (as noted by the engine plaque) and has been enjoyed on local cruises, car shows, and hot rod tours. It has accumulated 16,950 miles on the build over the past 15 years.

Additional features include windshield wipers, matching yellow engine side panels, and a wired-in battery charging dongle.

This is a thoughtfully built, professionally finished street rod that combines classic 1937 Chevrolet styling with dependable modern performance and numerous custom touches, making it equally at home on the show field or the open road.
