CRUISE FOR THE CURE’S LAST SHOW
"It took me months to make this decision. But I had to follow my heart. With many dreams I have yet to fulfill, this will be New Hope’s last car show. New Hope Cancer Recovery’s support group will be my main focus and my artwork is something that I desire to do full time. With both of our adult children now married, it allows my husband and I to visit them and travel the world. I will truly miss all of you. Your life has touched New Hope and mine. Thank you for making our show shine!
As the Director of Cruise for the Cure car show, it is my pleasure to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in our show for the last 7 years helping raise cancer awareness and supporting several families who have benefited from the monies that have been raised during our show! Some of our proceeds have also helped our local Community Home Health & Hospice, The Ronan Thompson Foundation, and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
New Hope has been extremely blessed by those who have sacrificed their time to help out at our show. We also couldn’t have done it without the support of our local businesses that have provided our show with wonderful raffle prizes and silent auction items. All of our trophies that have been presented each year are due to the generous support of our sponsors.
Last years show was very touching. We honored and surprised Larry Ames with a ride in his dream car, a brand new red 911 Turbo Porsche off of the show room floor from Larson Automotive Group from the Tacoma, Fife store. Craig Noyes who works for LookLarson, was moved by Larry’s story and decided to surprise him with a joy ride. Larry came back beaming from ear to ear!
Here’s a show that has it all, from raffle prizes, silent auction, vendors, 50/50 raffle and 100 sponsored trophies to give out along with our FABULOUS FIVE category. The BEST OF SHOW was presented to Jerry & Sally Dupree from La Center, WA. Owners of a 1937 violet colored Ford Coupe. With 238 participants we had a beautiful assortment of cars, trucks and motorcycles rumbling down Commerce Avenue on a sunny day. It was a show you were glad to be a part of!
On Sunday, New Hope was asked to join Riverdale Raceway from Toutle, WA for the Drag Race for the Cure. Dan Dale, the owner of the track, was very excited to have us join them for the cause. It was a fabulous day. Motors were rumbling and rubber was burning as each participant prepared their car for the race. This event will continue on to help raise proceeds for New Hope!
